Christen eagle help
Hi I have a christen eagle with a wingspan of around 59inches and was just wondering what engine people would put in it. I bought the plane from my local flying club but no one knows much about the plane. The plane hasnt been flown as far as I can tell. I wanted to put a petrol engine in it and was wondering wether to put a 26cc engine in or would that be too small or too big. I suppose I should mention also the 59inches come from the top wing dimentions and the fuselage is made from fibre glass. Any help would be very much appriciated.

RE: Christen eagle help
The recently reviewed Hangar 9 Christen Eagle (http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...rticle_id=1483) has a 54" wing span and appears to fly well with a 125 four stroke (20cc) glow engine. My GUESS is that a 26cc gasoline (petrol) engine in your plane would be fine, but I might go with a 30cc or 35cc depending on how heavy the plane is. If you already have the 26cc laying around, I'd say go for it!

RE: Christen eagle help
That 125 has plenty of power for that H9 plane.
The one bummer about review planes is there is hardly time to get the motor broken in when you have to film them. |
RE: Christen eagle help
Thanks for the help. I havent got an engine so ill try t go for the 30cc thanks.

RE: Christen eagle help
My Skyshark Eagle has a 64 inch span and I know these have been flown with anything from a 1.20 four stroke to a light weight 50cc gas. So your slightly smaller plane should do great with a light 30cc engine imho.

RE: Christen eagle help
Kerrydel,
Nice review! Question for ya, I have a NIB Saito 100 do you think it would be a good match for the Eagle? TIA for your input! FB |
RE: Christen eagle help
The 125 is both lighter and more powerful but I think the 100 would fly it quite scale like.
