Going small gas (10cc) comments?

I don't have this plane but I had the chance to go over it at the Toledo show.
I've seen it in flight as well. It's a great flyer and the ability to use GAS means inexpensive operation. I'd get some higher capacity but lightweight LiFe packs to power the electronics and the plane, to keep it light but flying all weekend long on a charge. It sounds like a wonderful combo. I would be inclined to mount the engine inverted so as not to have the head sticking out of the top, but this is not the documented installation of the engine. |

I have considered this combo also. But, I do have 4 Great Planes Revolvers powered by Saito 91, OS55AX and DLE-20. The fourth Revolver which is still in the box will be powered by an OS GT 22.
But getting back to the combo that you are looking at, I think that I would go for it. ;) |

The fourth Revolver which is still in the box will be powered by an OS GT 22. But getting back to the combo that you are looking at, I think that I would go for it. ;) I bought the engine, but mine is going in a 60 size Yak which might be a little lighter and thus more capable? |

Right now I am wrapping up the assembly of this combination. The Meridian 10cc is a nice built ARF. (my 1st Hanger Nine Plane). Everything on the build seems strait forward. I am only using one battery which is a 6.6v Life 2200ma Lipo. to power both the ignition and servos. In balancing it, it is comming out slightly tail heavy. I will need about 4 oz.of lead in the nose to balance at 90mm. I also have the Great Planes 3.5" Aluminum Spinner. Hopping to maiden this bird this weekend. If I were to do it over I think I might of went with the Sig 4* 60 and a 15cc engine.

I've been breaking my 10cc in on a Seagul 3d... 46 size plane. A123 batteries. IBE so I use one battery/switch. Been very happy with it so far other than trying to keep the muffler tight. Plus with the 20:1 gas/oil... it means taking another fuel jug to the field.
