Avistar Elite issue
Hello to all, I have a new Avistar Elite that has a some play in the horizontal stabilizer ,I've tightened down the 2 bolts that hold it in place with the vertical stabilizer but it's still there should i use some ca on it ? thanks

Are you sure that they are as tight as they should be? I found that you really need to tighten them to get rid of the play. I wouldn't use CA, unless you just plan to use it along the edges to remove the play, but still rely on the bolts to hold it in place. If you plan to rely on the glue to hold th horizontal tab, I would use epoxy.

I have the Elite as well, mine has the O.S. 55 with an 11x6 prop. Fantastic flyer, I did have to crank those bolts down quite a bit. I sometimes develop a small amount of play after a few hours of flying. I just retighten as necessary. I love this airplane and it is a fantastic flyer. Inverted flight is great along with basic aerobatics. I increased the throw a little all around and it really helped. I also have flaps installed and that really slows this plane down. Without them, she likes to come in hot. |
I just bought a used Avistar and first thing i noticed was the loose Horizontal stab. I wonder is a small piece of sand paper in between would help I think i will try it Mine is a 46 Rimfire powered If all goes well i wiil keep it that config... Thunder Tiger pro 46 lurking LOL
