Hangar 9 P-51 150 Version 1 Retract upgrade feedback

So I have searched but only find topics on the Version 2 of the P-51 150. I am looking for people that upgraded their Version 1 retracts or modified them. Robart makes some but looking at my choices before buying them.

I got this plane in great shape RTF, with a Saito 200TI that runs smooth, JR XP8103, and all servos.

So I was thinking about first upgrading the servo from a NES 703 to a S791 which has abotu 3x the torque. Then if that does not work upgrade the actual retracts.

I was rolling the plane out the garage and the right retract collapsed on me :( scratched the cowl and wind tip :(...

Did the failing retract a stock one? I have a never flown Version 1 with stock retracts and I believe they are the same as on their P-47 150 - which have never failed me.

Yeah they are factory, but the Version 1 has different ones than the P47 150. The Version 2 P-51 has the same as the P47. Let me try though when I get home and see if they will work. I actually have a p47 150 at the house too.

H9 1.50 P-51 Retracts

I have a set of Sierra Precision retracts in mine that I bought at Toledo. Nobody makes better retracts than Sierra.
