Flyzone DHC 2 Turbo Beaver Assembly issue

This is for any existing owners of the Flyzone DHC2 Turbo Beaver who have assembled the PNP version.
I have followed the instructions exactly and reread the part about attaching the tail feathers. My problem is that after attaching the servo control rod to the horizontal stabilizer control horn (same issue even without the servo rod attached), I attempt to put the horizontal stabilizer into the slot at the back of the plane and seat the horizontal stabilizer flat against the fuselage. there is not enough space below the control horn to fully seat the horizontal stabilizer flat into the fuselage. It actually sticks up about 1/8th of an inch. The only thing I can figure out is to carve out the bottom of the back of the fuselage to make room for the control horn to move. That would require quite a bit of carving. It appears that the back of the fuselage was not manufactured correctly.

What have other owners found when they assembled their planes. it should be a fast easy build, but it is not turning out that way.

Thanks,

Terry
