DP ULTIMATE balancing question

I almost finished with a DP Ultimate and want to know how you guys are checking for cg. The book doesn't say top or bottom wing or to put the plane upside down or right side up. The Cermark Pitts, built by DP, was balanced upside down. Are you measuring from the cabanes or leading edge ?
Thanks in advance
Gary

CG

I raised it with my fingertips underneath the top wing on each side of the cabane.

DP ULTIMATE balancing question

Cabane? Front or rear? How was it with the specified balance point? Will you move it back some? Thanks.:)

CG

Under the top wing on the left and right of the cabane at the forward balance point in the manual the tail just started to drop so I left it alone. It flies very tame and stable which is how I like it. There is a 1-1.5" variable so if you want it hotter balance it back a little further. Can't remember the exact range but it's in the manual.

Range

I have been reading on the balance also still waiting for mine sice Feb when I ordered it at WRAM. The range that everyone is useing is between the cabanes. The front cabane keeps the plane stable and the farthest back I've read is the rear cabane. So anywhere in between seems to be the range most have gone with.

good kit

the bipe is very stabel even at the rear aft cg location you are going to love this one as long as you have good power on her. I have flown mine with a satio 180 and a rcs 1.4 16 x 8 APC. The satio was better....
