That is completely unimpressive.

Looks like either the plane doesn't handle well or the pilot can't fly. He nearly lost it on take off.

Glad to see I am not alone csteve. I thought it looked like the pilot about stall looped it back into the ground!

Not much to see there. When I get mine going with an FPE 3.2 I'll be sure to get a video.

Great looking plane! Much better flying than what I do!

:eek:I have just finished mine. The plane looks really short coupled. It might need some real care on Take Off. I will let you know when I fly it next week!! I hope it does OK !!

RE: G.P Christen Eagle Video!!

Skip, if the Eagle flies like the Pitts then take off isn't really an issue. Just let the tail come up, stear with the rudder and fly it off. Looks to me like the Pilot in the Video didn't have much take off roll before he rotated. Probably was near a stall. Guess that happens when people if you rely too much on power instead of flying on the wing..... BobH.

i wonder what the landing looked like...oooof!

That was a complete waste of time.

Stricktly a "right stick" flyer....I'll bet he rarely uses a rudder---Very evident on takeoff....Note to Great Planes---If you want to do a pro video then hire a pro pilot.

Hmmmmm..... Might just need a little right thrust. One thing is for sure you guys are a tough crowd.

Miloh.

Went and looked at it again... the rudder was floppin around a bit. Don't get me wrong If it were me doing the video I would have shot it again untill I got a better run at it.

Yes I agree the video is not very bright... G.P needs to hire a media team. LOL.

At least we know the plane fly!

I agree with post #9
With a take off like that I can understand why the landing
was omitted.

All of the GP videos are pretty shabby. You'd think they would be a little more selective.

On another note....Serge1, you really seem enamored with Great Planes. Does WS Promotions have any relationship with GP that would motivate you?

Looks like I flew that plane!!!! That's about the extent of my first year abilities. At least they could have thrown a knife edge in there or something.

Absolutely not. If you look at my site I do not only praise Great planes. However I must admit that I like Great planes specially when they send you a new cowl because of a bad one without asking you any question....

G.P is all about customer service.

Interesting how things change over time. It used to be that a company that sent you a plane with a bad cowl was simply called a company that sent you a cowl that they had to replace. Now, it is considered above average.

It used to be called poor quality control...now it is good customer service.

Yes, I noticed that you say nice things about Dave Patrick, right before you blast them for poor customer service.

Have you ever had a bad experience with Great Planes or one of their products?

"Yes, I noticed that you say nice things about Dave Patrick, right before you blast them for poor customer service."

Yes and I am allright... However I still think they have the best planes.

"Have you ever had a bad experience with Great Planes or one of their products?"

Yes and they always resolved the problem without any assle.

Come on quys, this is just my two cents.

Speaking of which, I needed a new top wing for My Christian Eagle! They covered the center section upside down!!!!!. I called them and 3 days later I had a DR-1 top wing(OOOOPS). So I called them again and 2 days later had a new CE wing. By the way, this was Tower, not GP( but I'm impressed they had a top wing for the CE which is kudo's to GP) Yuo know how hard it is to get parts for new planes.

Flyfalcons 10-29-2003 06:59 PM

RE: G.P Christen Eagle Video!!

How can the center section be covered upside down?

deputydog 10-29-2003 07:23 PM

RE: G.P Christen Eagle Video!!

The feather pattern was not aligned properly when the top wing and top center section was mated! Also the alignment was askew on the leading and trailing edges. Now if you inverted it where the bottom was up, everything mated perfectly. Except now you have a servo lead hole and cabane blocks on the top. I was just going to flip it but there are no hardwood blocks to sink the screws into for the cabane mounts.
