airplane for rossi 60

I dug around in the garage and found an old rossi 60 pattern engine with a macs pipe. Looks fun so I lubed it and bench ran it, it's quite the powerhouse although it weighs a ton. Any suggestions on a good airplane to put this on??? I'm not sure yet.[8D]

Hi,

I am planning on using a Rossi R60 (newest model) on a Sig King Kobra. This will work really well

Sig Kougar. I've got a Picco .40 on mine and it will scat. A LHS has this same engine in a .60. I'm gonna see what he'll take for it. Anyway, that's what I'd put it on, a Sig Kougar.

The engine I have is an old heavy sandcasted crankcase. Although its got the power to rip a firewall off!!!!!! Sounds like a peed off bumblebee when it winds up!!!:D

I have a brand new in the box Rossi 60 that I was going to put on a Tomahawk but never finished it.When I saw the ad for aHanger 9 60 Corsair I thought it would be perfect seeing as how I have always wanted a 60 Corsair. So I spring for the Hanger 9 60 Corsair. It comes. Then I find the tread here that talks about the Hanger 9 60 Corsair. Well it turns out that a 2 stroke engine on this plane may not be the best choice because the cowl is so big that not much of the prop sticks out beyound the cowl. A 4 stroke is better because it swings a larger diameter prop. So now I am the proud owner of a Saito 100 and still don't have a home for my Rossi. How would the Rossi do on a p51 ARF?

Which p-51 arf??? I would say it would be fine. The p-51 cowl is much smaller. I have a hanger 9 t-6. Had a gms 76 on it but thought the same thing you thought because of the huge fuselage radius and went with my old trusty enya 90 four stroke. perfect combo. Although I seen a review in I think model airplane news of the hanger 9 t-6.......................The author put an old webra 61 on his t-6 and apparently did just great. But I think these 60 warbids sound great with a four popper!!
