Hanger 9 US 40
I would like to ask all that have put this bird together as to how you did your wing servos when going with flaps and airleons. This is my first bird with 4 servos in the wings and need to know how everyone ran the servos to the reciever, Im using a Futaba 9C and am going to put each one on its own channel but am not sure as to what legnth of extensions to use.Ive read that long extesions on the servos can cause problems. My thinking is to run 18" extensions for the outer servos and 12" for the inboard and then have small extensions( 4") already in the reciever since its wrapped and just plug the ones from the wings into those?? Ill have them numbered so i wont mix them up but want to make sure that the extensions arent too long. By the way there Hitec 425BB servos and Ill be using a 4 cell battery pack. Thanks

your setup sounds just fine very similar to how I have mine set up. I wouldn't worry about that length of an extension you'll be just fine. Good luck and have fun you'll love this plane.

I would run as short a servo extension as you can get away with. I have had servo problems related to extensions in the past. I am not sure if length was a big contributor to those problems, but it's possible. Just be sure to not make them so short they can pull apart.
You might also consider going to a 5 cell, 6 volt pack. You get more power and faster transit times from the same servos. I am doing this on most of my fun-fly planes now and it seems to work really well. I agree you will love this airplane, especially with a 9C. One thing that's really cool about that radio: you can have a setup you like, then copy it to a different memory location. Then you can experiment and still have your original setup to easily get back to if you mess something up. I have had literally dozens of hours of fun setting up different mixes!!! Enjoy... |
