is it good for a beginner?
 

hi guys,i was looking at the hobbico superstar both electric and glow powered. i was planning on buying the electric one to train on since i am a newbie and then graduate to the glow.but i want to know if the ep version is actually worth my money and time or if i should just go straight to the glow powered

I would lean toward getting the glow version. Unless you've been running RC cars, you'll have to buy a decent charger and high performance battery pack can run as high as $50.00 for maybe a 4 minute flight. I fly the smaller electric indoor and outdoor pattern style as well as glow and gas. Each has it's place and all are fun. Tough choice.

Generally, if you plan to go to glow... start with the glow power model. The glow model is a bit larger and that has some advantages for the beginner.;)

I started on the Hobbico Superstar & it taught me four things. Takeoff, fly, land & repair. Excellent little plane!! The only problem I had is I out grew it before I got my moneys worth well I might ought to take that back - it weighed around 5 lbs when I got it & after the trials & tribulation of learning it weighed around 6 1/2. HE HE lots of epoxy!!
P.S. I'm doing better - now when I crash theres usualy nothing left to fix!!

i do have experience with glow engines from my hpi rs4 2.

LOL... I been there:eek: You'll get past that stage too... if you keep at it.

But the club "stickmaster" can do a full throttle pass at 2 inches off the runway... why can't I?[&:]
