Edge 540 Vector/Pacific

I am looking to get an Edge 540. I like the idea of the .60-.90 sized airplanes, big enough to see, without being too expensive. I have heard good things about both planes. Which is better for someone who is still a beginner in aerobatics? The Vector Flight or the Pacific Aeromodels? I have also heard good things about the Aero-Works but it seems like the Pacific is liked better. The Vector Flight is a lot cheaper pricewise, is the quality cheaper also?

Several Vector 66 inch Edges and Extras in my neighborhood.
Quality is excellent, customer service is first rate and an outstanding value compared to it's competition. Mine is still in the box but when it was on sale at $148 a few weeks back there's no way I couldn't buy it. Flies pretty well with a .75-.90 2 stroke.

I have an older VF Extra and I loved it, it is now retired in favor or larger birds but id buy another in one in a heartbeat.

It does seem that the Pacific Edge is favored over the AW.

good luck

hi dyebr

I myself have a vectorflight edge 540 .quality is excellant as well as their customer service .The plans are also very well written.Price, well lets just say is hard to beat for this size plane.the saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't hold true with the vectorflight.Looks as though it come down to price.

happy hunting .ken

I really like the idea of a kit plane, but everyone seems to be going toward ARF and RTF models. What if I buy the vectorflight and take the measurements and build a better one from scratch. I am talking about carbon fiber supports and all the works, if I wanted the better designed plane, which would it be? I still plan on flying whatever plane I buy, just in the long run, being able to build the same plane that is extremely light and stronger appeals to me, I am an engineer what can you expect, nothing is ever light or strong enough.

Thanks
