New Plane
 

I know that this question has been asked in the past, but I'd like to give a little more detail to help you with your respected advice. I've been flying for about a year with a Hanger 9 Easy trainer, MDS .4 engine. I think I'm doing well with it and and now looking to move up to my next plane. I'd like my next plane to:
- have a larger engine, minimum .6 and about up to .9
- would like, but not essential a scale model,
- would prefer not to have another highwing
- it needs to be an ARF.
This plane will eventually go to my younder son who is about a year behind me in terms of ability, so the plane has to look cool ( ie an ugly stick type plane would not be preferred route).

my second plane was a hobbico awarf extra 300s, it is a very aerobatic plane but with rates set low it is very docile, i flew this plane for about 2 1/2 years when a dead stick right after takeoff turned it into a kit again, it is a very nice plane & sells for about 189.00 @ tower, you can run from a 60 2 stroke to a 91 four stroke, great second plane IMHO

take a look at Hangar 9s new P-51. It should satisfy all your criteria. Your son should make up that year in about 60- 90 days, so be ready. ;)

Get a Kangke Cap Sport. They are a blast to fly, a 60-75 works great, and very well built. Depending on control set-up it can be as gental as a trainer all the way to 3-D. If you keep the throws small and the C.G. in the middle of the range you will have no trouble flying it with you level of experiance.
