Holding Wings while glue sets
I just glued the wings together on my WM Super Stunts 40. I found a helping hand by using a picture frame clamp. The one with the long web belt and has a screw clamp that tightens the belt. I put the wing together and wrapped the clamp around using the corner braces that come with it on the wing tips to stabilize it. I just tightened it and it pulled the wings together tight in the middle. It works great and no need to tape. Thought I would pass this along. Best 5 bucks I ever spent(well maybe for now).

Sounds like a great idea. Thanks. Where do I purchase a picture frame clamp?

Harbor Freight or one of those Hobby Lobby crafts type stores or even the cheapie fleamarket types.

Try wrapping with a string with a rubberband in the middle tied to both ends. No tape and plenty-o-room to clean up oozing glue. Holds the halves together really well until the glue cures.

Use thick CA and you don't have to worry about anything to hold them.

I had these two bricks laying around in my basement. I wrapped a towel around each one and just set them on my bench pushing laterally against each wing tip. It worked pretty darn good. Just wiggle them around on the bench for the perfect pressure.

If the wing has dowl pins or hold down bolt holes on the front and two hold down bolt holes at the rear of the wing. Use 1/4 in. dowls pins and 8 rubber bands, this makes the joint really tight. Easy clean up for excess epoxy.

That's the trick: to get those dowels to line up AND the wing straight. One time I had the wing perfect and those darn dowels were not lined up with the holes in the fuse's front former. I guess it's then time to file the former's holes to the dowel locations (or have a crooked wing in the saddle). Sorry for rattling on.

Arf kits only, Joe. Not built from sticks kits!!!!!

Just daisy chain a bunch of the fatter rubber bands together. Used two sets of these and you're done.
