Would like to hear good and bad about this airplane. I back ordered one and hopefully will have it around the end of the month. MAN reviewed the GEE BEE and thought it was great little plane but others who have flown them were not impressed. May the truth be known. Thanks :stupid:

Flew mine for the first time and it went very well.No bad habit's,reasonable landing speed and track's stright on take off with a little up elevator at the beginning.Don't believe the bad stuff, but you do have to land it with a little speed. It won't float in lika Sig Kadet. Tim.

I back ordered mine through Tower Hobbies. According to the person I talked to they should be in by the end of this month but ,in reality who knows.

I've had one on back order since august of last year. It was going to be a birthday present to myself. It looks like my birthday present will be a year late OR just in time for this years b-day :D

Instead I got this crummy plane (just kidding) http://www.geocities.com/jbrundt2/N2S-1.html

Let's hope Tower can get them in and have everything work right this time.

I have yet to see a bad review from Airage publications. I wouldn't put too much credit into them. I do get MAN and used to get r/c Car Action and I do enjoy them a lot, but the reviews are more like advertisements.

Looks great, flies great, takes both experience, and heavy concentration by the experienced to land.

Hey Jim,

Great hat! I'm looking for something like that to replace my "lifeguard" style hat. It's sort of like yours, but larger diameter and I have to tilt my head back too far to see my plane.

Summer's coming, where did you get yours?

Mike

Mike, it's always summer in Tucson. Got the hat in POPULAR SPORTS shop. You should have one in S D.

engine size for Kyosho Gee Bee Z

Jim:
What engine do you recommend for the Kyosho Gee Bee Z?, it seems like a .53 four stroke would be pretty slow on a model with so much drag. i was thinking of a YS .61 two stroke or at least a YS .63 four stroke, a model like this ought to go Fast!

You are right in the ballpark. A reliable .60 two stroke, or Saito .72 four stroke would be great. Don't worry about the engine being too heavy, you are going to need weight up front anyway.

 Tower now has the Gee Bee listed for arrival in late september, what!!!!!. Man this thing has been put back 3 months. I guess the next time it will late December. I'll bet santa won't be able to get them then either. Makes me wonder whats going on?. Guess I'll have to look for a Bee somewhere else. :stupid:

Gee! And after I just received the TowerTalk with a big photo and ad for the GeeBee too. I guess the marketing guys aren't talking to the product development guys. Hmmmmm, what else is new.

They also say the GeeBee is NEW!!! LOL...Now that's funny. The plane had it's debut last year at Toledo. How new can that be? Tower/Great Planes promoted the hell out of it last year. It's getting really annoying to see them do this kind of thing. They should either have it ready to go or just drop the plane altogether. Instead they just keep stringing us along.

NEW ? ? ? ? ? ?

I think that it's only fair that we know how it is "NEW".

If they are making modifications to the existing design, then I am sure that myself and many others who already own the Kyosho, would like to know about them.

It's interesting to note that AM Cross jumps all over the Pitts issue but nary a word is said about the GeeBee. I think there is just as much demand for the GeeBee as there is for the PItts.

In any case you would think that Great Planes, being the US importer for Kyosho, would be out there offering explanations and support. I guess they only support is what they feel like giving and as it suits them. I know I've posted to other forums that Ms Cross participates on asking questions about the Gee Bee but there have never been any replies. Some customer support. I've had the plane on back order from Tower since last August.

Jim,

I hope you get answeres to your questions because if Tower is touting the plane as new when those of us that know it has been out for a while we would sure like some questions answered.

Jeff

The only truly unbiased reviews come from RC Report. Period.

They tell it like it is.

Thanks,
I'm glad I checked this forum out before I selected the engine. I just picked up the ARF from my local Hobbytown USA in Rockford, IL and was going to put a OS .46 in it but now I think I'll go with the OS .90 since it's basically the same size and weight of their .61 but with free horsepower and I can swing a 14" or 15"prop.

Is there sufficient ground clearance for larger props?

Does the 60 size two strokes fit inside the cowl without any cutting? If so then the 90 will be ok as well.

Beautiful plane, can't wait to fly it.
