Kangke Laser 2000 Batteries??? Help Please?

I am building a Kangke Laser 2000 right now with a DA-50 and need help with what batteries to use. Here is what else I have in my plane first of all. I am running 5 Hitec HS-5945MG, 1 HS-5925MG, I4C isolator, and an electro dynamic fiber optic switch for the ignition. I really do not want to spend the money for the lithium ion batteries also because my plane is tail heavy and I need some weight up front. I am thinking about going with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. I was wondering what everyone thinks and what sizes I should get etc. I usually fly about 4-6 flights when I fly at about 15 min a flight. Thanks for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

All I use are NiMh & I like them alot. If your looking for weight though I dont think they will do the trick. My 1650 Mah NiMh batteries are about the same size as a 600 Mah NiCd and weigh less. If you really need the weight I would go with 6 volt NiCd with a min rating of around 1700 mah.

You may want to consider a battery redundancy system, the Laser is worthy of it. I used two batteries and switches in my Laser just for safety sake/ failure. The other benefit is longer flight time between charges. My set-up uses 1200 mah NiCd batteries for a total mah count of 2400. This is done on all my big planes, I'd hate to lose a plane for a cheap switch or lost battery cell.
