Sig Mayhem 3D
Just finished this plane and it was a breeze. All the hardware was top shelf and the intructions were easy to follow. Ther did, however, mess up the marking of the center line for the engine but they gave me the measurements in the instructions and it worked out nicely. I put a Saito 120 up front and it should have unlimited power. The drawback is I needed to add 12 OZ oz lead in the tail. The price one pays I guess. Plan to fly her this weekend and put it through it's paces.

john - 12 oz. on the tail draws a ? to be doing some checking on the cg . the mayhem has a long fus . 1 or 2 on the tail of any air plane is = to 6 or so oz. on the noise . hate to see going for a wild ride . [X(] GOOD UUCK bill WRC-FLYER ( take-off are oppional, landings are mandatory )

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
I know what you're telling me but it's true. The instructions show several different CG recomendations depending on how you want it to fly.. IE 3D. There must be 6 of them. I picked the one in the middle. We'll soon see what kind of a ride a get.

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
I don't know what you did to get that CG so far off. I am just finishing up my mayhem. I also put in a saito 120, and only put 2oz of lead in the back, more will be added after I fly it. CG is currently at 5 3/4". But I don't have the wheel pants on either, but still that shouldn't account for that much difference.

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
It could be the Saito mount I used which is made for the 120. I'll double check it this evening. You CG'd the plane while it was inverted correct?

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
Can you put the battery part way back in the tail? I put a 12" extention on the battery on my extra and put it way back in the tail. Saved 5oz of balance weight.

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
I put four flights on the Mayhem. I don't know how to review a plane except it flew AWESOME! Balance was great and all the maneuvers were done with ease. Makes me look better than I am. Landings are the best. It just floats. Harrier landings are a blast. Hope all who has one has as much fun as I do. John

JOHN - saw that mayhem with the os 108 fly today. it looked real good. i found out that they are nose heavy . what this guy did was opened a aera in the back on the bottom of the fus. for the reciver battery . to help with the weight. the plane has a lot of pounch.it flew quite nice. BILL WRC-FLYER

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
Hey John how does it roll, knife edge, etc?
|
RE: Sig Mayhem 3D
The plane does Rolls, Knife edge, inverted flight with ease. You do need high rates on the rudder for knife edge. I have 40 flights on her and each one is very enjoyable. Like I said earlier, you can't stall this plane. When coming in for landing, it slows to a crawl and sets right in. I'm hoping as soon as my Saito 120 is broken in, I will hover the thing. I did not mount the engine inverted. I figure it would have more reliable idle mounted sideways. The plane is worth every penny.
