Covering Help--Paint . . .!?!? Will this work ?
I have a kyosho model that is covered with heat shrink material but it is pretty thin. I was trying to fix some wrinkles in the wing with a heat gun-- it now looks like fiberglass-- awesome ! The problem is that the fuselage also had some wrinkles- it seems like the base color of the plane is red & white but when I uses the heat gun on it , I was being careful-- well . . . the stuff started shrinking and and the underlying color pulled away from the matching edges blah blah --it looks like S*$t !
The wings, tailfeathers looks great- anyway. I want to paint the fuselage- the covering will come off easy enuff ... but I'm afraid of trying to recover the fuse. I really epoxied stuff together and I dont think I could get stuff apart to recover with monocote. What kinda paint do I use (fuel proof etc..) brush, roll or spray from a can ? Any tips ? Will paint hold up in flight etc ? Please help-- I hate having a really nice plane that looks like poop ! Tbird |

No need to take anything apart to recover. Just make patterns out of paper for each section of MonoKote. Painting the fuse will probably be more involved at this point.
