GP Pitts Special
:DHey, Is anybody out there flying a Pitts with Fuji 50. Mine is just about ready to go and I was just curious how you were getting along with it.
Brenden, I know you have one! Let me know how you are doing with yours. Chuck, with Pitts |

RE: GP Pitts Special
had three members of the club I belong to flying the pitts with the fugi50 & they seemed to be ok, I had a g-62 in mine & it was awesome, landings were a little rough.

:)Wish I could post some pics, but I've spent too many $$$ on this plane that I can't afford a digital. This is such a nifty looking plane! I can hardly wait to try my hand at flying it. I still have to put in a redundant battery to supply all those servos. I just got the extra battery pack and hope I can install it this week.
clemrick Brenden M. are you out there? |
RE: GP Pitts Special
Gil,
Why was landing a little rough? I'm getting ready to fly mine for the first time and you made me nervous! I have a Quadra 52 in mine. Sheldon |
RE: GP Pitts Special
No problem on the camera. Hope things go well on your maiden flight. I think you will be pleased with the Fuji in this plane.

RE: GP Pitts Special
I have one with a Brison 3.2 in it. It is unbelievable. Hovers at less than 1/2 throttle, will tumble ALL the way across the sky. Landings, well all I can say is I thought I was a 1/2 decent pilot but I cannot get this thing on the ground without at least 4 hops. I have tried every speed I can from almost stalling it to a really hot landing speed. It will land 5 times trying to land it once. :D Funny though, I had a Christen Eagel and it landed like a trainer. Same engine.
Have fun Enjoy it. |

H. Wayne s,
Have you tried releasing the elevator input when you touchdown? I have the problem with mine hopping too, but I found that if I let the elev return to neutral the tail will come up a little and the palne stays on the ground. |
RE: GP Pitts Special
This is really interesting. I have no problems with bouncing on landings. In fact, I can land this plane very nicely. Conversely, I do have a good bit of trouble getting the rudder and throttle just right for take-off. Not enough throttle and little to no rudder control which can cause ground looping. Too much throttle and I have the wild thing on my hands. :D I think the take-off roll is similar to how a cub reacts. Just my 2 cents. Using a DA-50 for power.
