ORIGINAL: racsanone Is anyone else out there building a extreme aircraft cap 232 from rcsuperstore? picked one up at the toledo show. got mine built and need someone elses to compare it to. not to get off topic but where do you fly? I fly over the PWRC in Gainesville. I have looked at that plane myself and might consider it this summer :D |
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
Hey Guys
My directions on my extreme 232 says the C G is 3" 3.25" from the tip of the wing is this a typo? Also did everybody CA the stab on there planes? I'v just started building mine is there anything I should look out for on this arf. how does this plane fly? I'm putting MVVS 2.15 gas with smoke system. |
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
What prop are you using with the Saito 150? Are you satisfied with the quality of the Cap? I've been looking pretty hard at this bird myself. It sure looks good in the picture.

RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
scottsquicklube,
its not a typo.. that is where the C.G. is at.. 3 to 3.5 from l.e. at the TIP. The stab I Epoxied, call me old fashioned but the c.a. idea made me nervous.. there was some slop in the fit of the horizontal stab so the epoxy filled the gap. You will have to build out a little bit on the rear elevator servo openings, any standard sized servos used will bottom out against each other cause the fuse is too narrow in the back, a little ply spacer on each side fixes it up. I did not use the aluminum control horns, went with dupro heavy duty horns instead. With no backing plate for the aluminum control horns I didnt like the c.a. and wood screw method in the directions. Other than that.. Flies great!! not snappy at all. tracks well.. I would recommend that you screw the canopy on. let me know how the mvvs works out, Ive been thinking about doing that as well or maybe a zdz40. but not sure how it would fly with the wingloading... keep me informed , we can swap pics. its nice to know I'm not the only one with one of these. |

texastbird
quailty is excellent, read the above post for the quick details.... runnng a 16x8 apc on the saito 150. it flies good with it, but it will not 3d it.. im thinking moki 1.8 or zdz40 or similar in my near future to 3d this thing, but i will use the saito for a while till i make up my mind. if u need pics, let me know. |
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
How is this plane flying????? I am interested in one??
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
Flies real good... not snappy at all like most other caps..... easy to build and easy to fly... needs some pics, let me know.
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
Tim thanks for the update, can you post some pics here? I have 2 other people who are interested in this plane and I am looking at it myself. How are the slow flight characterisitcs? How slow before it stalls and how does it stall? Wing drop or does it just nose forward?
thanks matt |

RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
will this plane handle a g38 lost a kangkee cap a few days ago and looking a replacment
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
I notice there was a few guys thinking about buying this arf, I have one new in box I got from extreme 5 weeks ago and decided to buy something else. I would take 270.00 shipped if anyone is interested.

RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
It will handle a G-38! The firewall is 1/4" and is the same plane as the Chip Hyde Cap X with a few small changes. My Cap X has a BME 50 and my Extreme Cap will probably get a BME 44.
I have about 20 flights on the CAP X and the Extreme Cap is 1/3 complete. These Caps are well built. You'll probably have to add tail weight with the G-38 they are fairly heavy. With the fuel tank on the c.g. and the BME 50 with J+A pitts muffler I had to mount the battery just ahead of the elev. servo's, but no extra weight was needed. Weight is 12.2 lbs. Had a Kange Cap also a while back, also well built, but much heaver than these Cap's. Have pics if interested. |
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232

RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
gents I dont want to get off topic but ad posts are not allowed, if you have a product to sell please post an ad in the Maketplace. Ads are free on fridays during the month July so take advantage of that. Take your buisness to PM's or the marketplace. Thank you kindly!
Now back to buisness, has anyone tried any heavy 3D with this bird? |
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
no heavy 3d yet, the saito 150 ive been running doesnt have the power to try alot of 3d... Got a Moki 1.8 for it and will have it moutned by next week... Then i'll try to play around with it.. But so far, I love the plane.... very stable and all throws are authoritative...... I

RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
sorry about that, as you can see i am new to rcuniverse and dont quite know all the rules yet.
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
are the decals pre applied really like the look of the plane all but the stickers
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
yup, stickers are pre applied... And yes they are on reallll good.... I'd hate to try to peel em off..
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
No they are not. the decals that come with the model are all the sponsor decals including JR and also an instument cluster decal.
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
All of the lettering on my plane came pre-applied on the plane and their were no instrument cluster decals were included... And no JR stickers either... Everything on mine was already there,, see posted pictures in first couple of threads and that is how it comes.
|
RE: extreme aircraft cap 232
No 3d here either not done building yet! This plane should fly as good as the Cap X but more extreme 3d won't be as good. Cap x has more control surface throw due to double beveled surfaces. It should be ready to fly in about a week.
