I've been flying the new GSP 72" Extra with a ST2300 for about 3 weeks now. I realy like how it flies and you can't beat the looks. I inspected everything before assembly it and found it satisfactory. The mounting of the canopy and rudder servo cover are a little funky but nothing that can't be easily corrected.

At 13#, the weight came in a little more than the claimed 11-12# but it flies great. IMHO it's a good plane at a fair price.

I think GSP planes, manufactured by CMPro are nice planes for the price. I just got the Swallow and its nicely built, not sure when I will fly it yet. My pal bought the Katana and we hear that it flies well. There is a thread in here on the Katana. The only CMPro plane I found to be dodgy is the CAP232. If you were to go to the GSP website the plane's flying weight is NOT stated. The box says about 8 lbs but when I took it out of the box it was more like 10lbs. So stay clear of that one. The build quality on that plane sucks too.

I also have the Pea Shooter (in the box) and its a decent built plane. Seems that it flies nice. Only proble with that plane is the UC is too stiff and will punch through the wings if you have repeated hard landings.

does anyone know another retailer for the CMP Models? Im after one of their pattern planes myself and the C-130. I dont want to deal with GSP if I can help it!! [:@]

Yeah, I hear GSP customer support is bad. There are enough frustrations in this hobby without having to deal with bad retailers.

Don't be fooled the PeaShooter is a piece of weak junk, I built it aand powered it with a Saito 120. Called GSP several times to ask about clarifying building instructions, got very little info from them. Its maided flight was great until it landed, it bounced on touchdown and the whole front end sheared off, very week construction. I wouldn't buy another GSP plane, even if they were handing them out for free.

Oh boy ... and I swapped my EX Zero 45 for the Peashooter! Hahahahaa ... nevermind ... hey how did your plane balance out with the Saito 120? Did you add any weights up front or to the back? Thanks.

Chief or Jet Hobbies carry the China Models line. Run the other way from Giant Scale Planes. The CM Pro people are real nice to to deal with though.

Buy the same planes from Chief Aircraft. Giant Scale Plane is just a store who think they are doing you a favor by selling you CMP product.

Since it was so short coupled, I placed radio gear and batteries as far foward as possible. Still had to add about 12 oz. of lead on the motor mount arms. It was the only way to get less lead and get my cg close. If I had pace the lead on the firewall, I was going to have to add about 1.5 pounds of lead. Like I said, It flew nice but was very weak. I did rebuild it added a layer of fibre glass, the only thing they used to built it was gelcote. I flew it again and scavanged the radio and equipment and engine and sold it for 40.00 dollars.
