GP Christen Eagle, Stupid Question

Hi Guys:

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but for those of you who have built this plane... How did you find the cut-outs in the upper wing for the servos? The bottom holes where obvious, but for the life of me I can not find a hole in the upper wing for the servo. Maybe I'm an idiot, but if someone can tell me, I would appreciate it. Do you have to cut them out yourself?

The manual doesn't show any clear pictures, not to mention it's hard to tell which is the top of the top wing and which is the bottom. There is a string in there for pulling the wires, but I can't find a cutout near where the string ends. Maybe this one was built on a Friday, and the guy got tired of cutting holes. ;-)

Regards,
Lee Snover

The servo holes aren't cut out...You have to find where the servos are supposed to be and "feel" the wood for the servo hole...they are only on one side of the wing

Great,

Thanks. At least I'm not imagining things. I could swear the bottom holes where cut. :(

If you are tightening everything up with a heating iron then they are fairly easy to find. I found mine that way!

RE: GP Christen Eagle, Stupid Question

Well,

I'm not having much luck. I can't find any "soft" areas around where the servo should be. In addition, it's nearly impossible to tell which side is "up" and which is down. I've tried shining a very bright light in siloutte and I still can't find where they are. I'm afraid to cut in and be on the wrong side. [:o]

I'll keep trying. I'm guessing the string is taped to the opposite side, since that's how the bottom wings where. This is not a good way to deliver an ARF wing.

After more pressing and poking, I finally found the servo bays.

Ayy, karumba. Sometimes I feel like a real beginner. ;-)

Thanks for the help guys!
