I got my wife to help me check the CG and it balances perfect fore/aft and left/right. It's been a very long time since I have flown an r/c. Boy I sure hope I don't re-kit it right away! :D

Good looking Rascal! You will really like it. I have the red version with a Saito .56. As Bill said they take a long runway they glide for days.

Hey guys, thanks for the comp's! :)

I read many comments about how the Rascal is a floater, so I have flaperons hooked up. If I need them, all I have to do is flip a switch. ;)

I never tried flaperons on the rascal but if you cut the motor about 200 yards out that ought to do it. Dial in as much aeleron as you can, maxed out it still rolls slowly. With a tower 46 and a mild wind shes off in 35 feet. A fun plane .... good luck!

Looks very nice. If you haven't flown in a long time, you should consider having someone help you on a buddy box. I was out of the hobby for several years, then got an Avistar and thought I could just go out there and pick up where I left off. I was a good flyer before, so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal.

Not the case, I got my left/right roll reversed when coming at me. I saved it the first time, but did it again on the second lap, lost too much altitude and went into a tree. I learned my lesson and with my second Avistar, I had an instructor. I was OK after a few minutes and didn't need him after a couple of flights. It's nice to have the insurance, especially with a nice plane.

Thumbs can and do get rusty. Don't take a chance and use a buddy box, even if it's just for the maiden.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks Sky Dude!

Actually, I have been practicing on the Real Flight simulator for several months now. But I am also going to look up some of the regulars at the field when I go and ask them to give me a checkout flight.

Hi Bill,
I won't be able to take it out this weekend. And next weekend they are having races at the field. Might be two weeks unless I can get out mid-week. I'll let you know how the flaperons do.
