CAP CRASH!!!!!!

I crashed my Hanger 9 Cap 232 Sport today and this is what happened.
I was up about 100 ft in the air and tried to "hang it on the prop" using rudder to steady it, it kind of snapped and came down sort of in a spiral cork screw attitude..i tried everything to get it undone but nothing seemed to affect it..radio gear was working, was this a futile type of spin or what could i have done to prevent or saved this plane?
Also..anybody know where to get some parts such as canopy, cowl, wheel pants for this 40 size plane,H9 doesn't make this one anymore.

Sounds to me like you kept the up elevator in there and spun it in. in spin recovery, let go of the elevator, arrest the spin using opposite rudder and perhaphs a little aileron, then pull out. You have to let go of the elevator, or have LOTS of power to get air flowing over the wings again.

I think I know where a NIB Sport cap is. If interested, let me know.

My words exactly, you have to let off the elevator for a bit to let it fly again, then gradually pull up. You kept it stalled, I'm pretty sure of that.

I nearly goofed up big time yesterday with mine. Took off on high rates and forgot that the switch is in a different place than on the radio I had been using. And yes, you have to get flying speed up again after snapping or spinning this little plane. Best hunnerd dollers I ever spent. Wish I had another for the same price.

The trick to recovery is nads. You gotta let off the controls, get on the juice quick, and let it build speed until you're as close to terra firma as you can get and still have room for a low rate pullout.

Im happy to announce that I went to the LHS today and found another H9 cap232 just like I had, after argueing a little over price I walked out the door with a NEW cap for 129.00 and a NEW magnum XLS .46 for my Phoenix Funstar..YAHOO!!!
The Funstar is WONDERFUL flyer..I had the Maiden flight yesterday right after the Cap Crash.
I had an OS LA .46 on it , flew ok but as it always has, ran like crap..i have fiddled with that LA for months and even caused a crash in a P-40 on takeoff and said enough is enough..took the LA out and the Magnum in!

Happy as a clam <-----------------------------------------
