RE: Is this model recognizable?
I'm gonna say it's and EXPERIMENTAL...:) That's what it says on the side of the plane[sm=bananahead.gif][sm=lol.gif]
HAHA, really I think it looks like a cross between a Cap (cowl), Something Extra (wing), Extra (fuse), and various other planes could be extrapolated from it. Just hazarding a guess :D |

RE: Is this model recognizable?
I'm with Terry, it looks like a "disguised" Dragon Lady. It was a nice try, however! ;)

RE: Is this model recognizable?
I'd say a bashed Dragon Lady, but the rudder and the wheel pants are a bit different, so who knows.

Geez, I can't fool anyone anymore! A Dragon Lady it is. The engine cowl is a dead give-away.
Lengthened two inches, or so, with the fin and rudder re-designed, the aft deck and underside balsa-sheeted, it originally came in at nine and one-half pounds. This year it sports new ailerons at 1/2 ounce each, replacing the 3(!) ouncers and added two more lightening holes in each wing half. Result? Nine pounds after replacing the heavy J'Tech muff with a Bisson. Powered by an old Magnum .91 with a Thunder Tiger carb, it swings a APC 15 x 6 prop at 9600 rpm using a SonicTronics glow plug and 5% Omega fuel. It will leave the ground in 12 feet. Other items include SIG wheel pants and spinner, Dubro wheels, GP tailwheel with Dubro bracket and my wire, canopy cut from a Modeltech G-202. It was no pleasure re-covering it in Monokote due to the weird Chinese wood used for the wing and fuse. Good job, fellows! |
