Funtana elevator???

Hello people,
I've just flown my Funtana 40 the first time today.
It's great, good tracking, knife edges, rolls, and
snap rolls. One problem though. The elevator seems
to flex too much. When a little el. is used its nice and
smooth. When more is used, say up to 1.5" it snaps to
the right. I was wondering if there are any others
out there that has had this problem. If so what are
some of the options to fix this. Any help or thoughts are
very welcome and appreciated.

RE: Funtana elevator???

Too much elevator will snap any airplane. High elevator throws should only be used at very slow speeds or when the wing is already stalled. What kind of maneuver are you trying to do when it snaps?

RE: Funtana elevator???

I'm just tryin to do a tighter loop.
the smallest I can do now is about
75 foot or so. I can do tighter and
faster loops with my trainer!
I've thought about 2 elevator servos
or one servo with a Y in the push rod
goin to both halfs. Has any one tried this?

RE: Funtana elevator???

Try doing the loop at half throttle and feed in the elevator slowly. If that doesn't work mix the ailerons to work with the elevators but go in the opposite direction. Elevators up, both ailerons down, elevators down, both ailerons up. If that doesn't work, fly the airplane as slowly as you can, just above a stall, then give it full throttle and full up at the same time.
