Favorite bench charger
I can't find a forum for this so I'm posting it here (since all I fly now is arfs). I think I killed my Ace Digipace bench charger and I'm wondering if there is anything better/more user friendly out now. I never thought the Ace was that easy to use/program.
What is the "hot" ticket for charging your rx/tx batteries at home? Thanks, Jeff |
RE: Favorite bench charger
Check out the Batteries & Chargers forum here...
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Batt...umid_84/tt.htm I have both the Sirius Pro and the Triton charger. I use the Sirius charger about 95% of the time because it's so easy and gives a reliable and quick charge. I only use the Triton now for odd batteries like the glo-starter or my RC car batteries. The Triton takes a while to get used to with all the different menus and options. You can get the Sirius Pro at RadicalRC for $119. http://radicalrc.secure-mall.com/sho...57&cart=179759 Both require a 12V power source. I just use my field battery, which I charge with a regular 12V car battery charger. I don't have a charger that is AC, other that the car battery charger. I also have a 12V power supply from Radio Shack, but I've found the field battery works just as well. |
RE: Favorite bench charger
The Triton has been a winner for me. It'll charge any type of battery from Tx, Rx, and even Li-polis. I highly recommend it. Like "skydude" says, it requires a stand alone power supply. If yo are looking for a charger for just your Rx or Tx and you don't want to spend the extra flow on a power supply...may I recommend the MRC super brain 959 charger for $50.

Thanks - I couldn't find that forum for some reason!

RE: Favorite bench charger
Good point. The Triton can charge just about anything, once you set it up properly.
The Sirius is strictly for Rx and Tx batteries so it's 4, 5 or 8 cells, NiCd or NiMh only. Oops, scratch that. I was thinking about the Sirius Test, which is a discharger. The Sirius Pro will detect the number of cells automagically. It's pretty idiot-proof, which is good for me. :) |
