ARF kits

I bought an ARF kit from Mr. Yi Li, who does business as [email protected] on E-bay. I received two damaged kits from him which were returned. The second was returned over thirty (30) days ago and I have heard nothing from mr. Li. I believe he is doing business on E-bay using anither name, since he has shut down his old account.

The airplanes in question are ARF pattern types for engine sizes up to 46 or so.
I would think twice about buying from this guy. He will not communicate and one in twenty (1 in 20) of his customers has results similar to mine.

Caveat emptor. Stay away from these new ARF airplanes on E-bay.

Dude ... I will NEVER buy anything from EBay ... will you trust a guy who whispers to you from round the corner in the middle of a night at a car park selling you a Rolex? You want to buy something from someone who you cannot verify their ID? Yeah this is really CAVEAT EMPTOR or more like SUCKERZ BEWAREROUS. I am sure this is like a 0.001% risk but not worth it.

It's too bad. In the past I have used Ebay ALOT. Over the past year I have just about completely stopped because of reports like this...A good service gone bad (and it's not Ebay's fault)..

Thanks for passing the word.

One thing, were these kits or ARFs? Not sure which you bought.

RE: ARF kits

What was his feedback rating like?
I always base whether to bid or not on the feedback rating. I have gotten some great engines at good prices and lots of kits you cant find anywhere else on Ebay.
Got only slightly burned one time and I believe it was my second Ebay purchase I ever made. Got the item, it just didnt work as the guy claimed.
The hundred or so purchases since that one have been fine.

The feedback ratings are the key here , I buy all kinds of crap
on ebay , If the guys made 234 transactions and his feedback
is 100 % , Then you are most likely going to have a good deal .
But there IS always that chance that keeps me wondering
until I sign for that package  I almost bought a couple of the
planes you are talking about but his feedback rating kept me from
doing so . But like fubar said , there are good deals on rare things
to be found.
