Hanger 9 Edge 540 elevator servos
 

I have read several messages that referred to placing the elevator servos (when using two) back in the tail section. I really want to do this with the Edge I am putting together but when I looked at the rear of the fuse there is not enough wood there to mount the servos. What is being done to accomplish this? Are the servos being mounted to the underside of the horiz. stab? Due to the weight of a Moki 1.8 up front and the desire to use standard servos, using two in the rear would meet my needs.

I put mine in the rear.Before you attach your horizontal stabilizer you can reach down into the fuseloge and see the wood is missing ans in sort of an oval shape.Cut you out a piece of thin aircraft ply or whatever you chose to fit as good as possible in that open area on both sides.Then cross brace with balsa 1/4 stock for strength.Now you can cut out a spot for you servos that will be solid.One on each side.I used 9001 servos on mine.Also used one rudder servo and attached the tailwheel to the rod with a swvel clevis.Hope this helps.Tivey

Why go through all that hastle of mounting the servos in the tail? Does that Moki weigh that much? I set mine up with dual servos and fiberglass pushrods, mounted them in the servo mount on each side of my rudder servo. rudder setup, pull pull, works great.. looks much cleaner.. with less work.
