Im looking for the BEST looking and flying 40-60 size Zero.:eek:
Anybody have any opinions?

Let me clarify my post,im looking to buy the Zero and since Tower doesn't handle it anymore it might be discontinued.
I can't figure out why Kyosho discontinues soooo many planes and only a couple of years worth of manufacture?
I agree with Richard,the Kyosho really does look nice!;)

There is an EZ Zero hanging in our LHS that I think looks very realistic, lots of detail work on the covering.. The guys down at the field know the person that owns it and they all say that it flies excellent too.

Go for the EZ, we have like 5 at our field and they fly together, its a beauty and flies so darn well.

It has a nice and round fiberglass fuse with authentic recessed panel lines. A guy at my field who used to work for [link=http://www.revell-monogram.com/home.html]Revell-Monogram[/link], a scale plastic model company, in R&D, took a look at my Zero and said it was the most scale and accurate looking Zero. All the panel lines and scale details on the cowl are correct. He didn't say the same for the EZ Zero.

We have one EZ Zero at our field. It looked good and flew very well, but I didn't care for all the plastic parts and the tiny 2-3/8" main wheels.

world models has a nice 60 size zero with a fiberglass fuse. from what i see of the one that flies at our field it flies great.

Kyosho's Zero, is by far the most scale out of the box. It does take more work to assemble, than WM's. It is well worth the extra money in my opinion.... We have many arf Zero's at my field, but this is more scale... I would even say, more scale than EZ's...

Yes, the Kyosho Zero is pretty scale looking (unlike those H9 warbirds :)). Mine has over 300 flights on it, and I have a second one still in the box in storage.

My buddy screwed up while recording my landing (pressed the wrong button on the camcorder). I was not a happy camper because it was a decent landing. I will force him to record the landing again next time.

Kyosho Zero looks very accurate scale.
I don't know if Kyosho discontinued it's production, but some
hobby shops in Japan still have them in stock.
I am becoming to think about buying the Kyosho Zero before
they run out.

Hi,

I agree with Richard that Kyosho Zero is the MOST scale in the 40 range. The 150 range though, the most scale is CMPro Zero at 91"inch. I thought about getting it but the weight is a hefty 27 lbs!!! Can you imagine the cost to power this thing through electrics? Kyosho is known to make their warbirds very scale but small and expensive. I would not recommend EZ Zero since it is impossible to repair. This type of construction had its days in mid 80's. If you deciedes to buy one, think about the repairability issue. Dai Phan

If I may suggest something that will elevate your Zeros to the next level. That is PLEASE WEATHER THEM.... A simple brush dipped in silver paint performing dry-brushing will do wonder! Dai Phan

Dai, the smaller CMP 71" Zero also looks pretty scale. However, it lands pretty hot and could use flaps to help slow it down. Too bad the manufacturer decided not to provide the plane with flaps.

I just bought the WM GS 80" Zero, so we'll see how it turns out. I heard that it's a very nice flyer and lands slow without any bad habits.

I look at the GSP 71" and the 91" and I thought that the nose profile of the smaller is a little bit too down foward. The larger one is like a plastic model in my opinion. The WM is nice but the whole plane is too chubby. I know that I am nickpicky but I am scale guy so it's in my nature. I am a WWI R/C buff because they are slow enough for me. I don't have the skill to fly fast warbirds like you, though I wish I could... Dai

I have a seagul zero fighter and i really love it and the way it looks, may not look to scale but flying it looke wonderfull to me. I canged it up i took the grass hopper looking sticker off and replaced with a leg ug betty boop stickers since my wife claims the plane.:(

Seany, the plane will arrive with an OS 160FX 2-stroke, so I will give that engine a try. If the OS 160 does not have adequate power, then I will switch to a Brison 2.4 gasser.

Richard that plane looks soooo nice...would the brisson fit in easily,and how about weight...also what P-40 Warhawk would you reccommend for the G26 or a Brisson gas engine.Thanks!

Thanks. With an OS 160 in the nose, I would need around two pounds of nose weight. Most people fly the WM GS Zero with a G38 without any extra lead in the nose. Since the Brison 2.4 is slightly more compact than the G38, I hope it would fit fine.

Did you check out that 1/5 P-40 ARF from Skyshark? That plane looks decent and might be a good candicate for a gas engine.

I went to Skysharks website and there is no pictures of the P-40 or price...they haven't starting selling it yet I guess.
What kind of LD is in the zero and what sort of servos should I use?
