BISSON MUFFLERS...

I sent a broken muffler to Bisson in Canada for repair and to my surprise they sent me a brand new one at no charge!
This is a top notch company, they kept in contact with me via email and were very polite!
I bought ANOTHER Bisson muffler for my Phoenix Giles 202 and will buy more!:D

RE: BISSON MUFFLERS...

I sent them a muffler for repair a couple of months ago. It was broken as result of a manufacturing defect in an airplane they sold me. Granted, they were not the mfg of the airplane, but I still thought charging me $25 to repair the muffler was out of line. Maybe it depends on who you talk to and how their day has been.

And no, they didn't send me a new one.

RE: BISSON MUFFLERS...

i've got a BCM Pitts on my moki 1.35... and whilst it's great... i can't help feeling it only cost about 37p to make and i paid 40 quid for it. it is quite literally an aluminium can with 2 pipes sticking out of it. maybe the reason they sent you a new one is because it's cheaper than spending more than 5mins repairing one. but maybe the retail price reflects the development costs or something... i dunno.

but when my plane hit the ground and it was split open in a couple of places, somebody at the flying field said "ooh i can weld that up for you.." a few days later i got it back... didn't look very pretty, but it works as good as new.
