First I have heard of it.

RE: sig something extra 1.2
Finally. A little late now that the market is flooded with 90-120 size fun fly planes. Even Sig has the new 3D Mayhem 72", which is 90-120. I hope the SE 1.20 is bigger than that. 80" wing would be good, which will make it exactly the same as the WM Fun World 3D 1.20.
I think if Sig had listened to the modelers and came out with a SE 1.20 3 yrs ago, it would have been much better positioned to cash in big time. Still, better later than never. |
RE: sig something extra 1.2
Sig did not show the SE 1.2 in Chicago over the weekend. They were showing new 1/2A ARF SEs though. The rep said avalable soon but no exact date

I know I'm in the ARF forum but what I'd really like is the kit. Most likely tho it will only be available as an ARF just like the 3D Mayhem. Bummer if you like to build.

If you like the SE, and you like to build, then check out the 3DFreedom at www.ak-models.com . Less than $120 including shipping, but with no hardware that you don't want anyway. It's essentially a scaled up SE, with the exception that it doesn't use a tube and socket for the wing, but rather a funky ply spar and sleeve. On the one I built however, I did modify it for an aluminum wing tube. Here's a pic of the finished item with a Saito 150 on the front. First plane I ever flew that needs no down stick for level inverted flight. I can send pics of the wing tube mod to anyone who wants them.

Oh yeah.....here's a two year old thread discussing the build with lots of pics.
