GP PT-19 engine question
Hi guys, I'am buying a GP PT19, & I need opinions on what engine to use. I know a 120 4-stroke would be ideal, but would an O.S. 91 4-stroke or an MDS 78 be OK? I'm interested in saving some money. thanks.

I fly mine with a O.S. 91fx and a 15-8 prop and get great results with that. I did not have to add any weight. great plane take care mike lansford

RE: GP PT-19 engine question
OS 91 FX is a good choice, a better one would be a Thunder Tiger 120 (2 stroke)
Had a G-23 in mine, hard to fit in cowl without a Slimline pitts muffler but a good combo. The T.T.120 has more power and that's a GOOD thing... |
RE: GP PT-19 engine question
After being dissatisfied with the performanced of an OS 91 I installed a TT 120 2 stroke in my GP Spacewalker and it flies great. I've had the engine for 3 years and I've never even had to adjust the needle once. Always starts right up, never a problem

RE: GP PT-19 engine question
Groucho, I have the GP Pt-19 w/Saito 100, and it is overpowered. I have seen one w/ an O.S. .91 4-stroke, and it flew great. Hope this helps.

RE: GP PT-19 engine question
Mine flys great on a OS .91 FX with a 13x8 prop, 10% Powermaster.

RE: GP PT-19 engine question
A little off the subject, but what a great flying model the PT-19 apparently is, regardless of size. I have a now-discontinued 46 Kyosho `19 with an OS 52 FS and what a honey! It`s my second plane after my Avistar trainer and if anything it`s more mellow. Lands rock solid and looks great on low, slow flybys.
