Bob - Sent Email to Hangar 9 sometimeago questioning the CG. They responded that assembly manual was correct. Have not flown mine yet. To many honey dos and weather has not been to conducive for maiden flights. Don't think tomorrow will work either since they are prediciting 3 to 6" of snow tonight.

I'm in Texas, and we have wind and rain too [:@]. But we always have wind [:o]. The Laser is pretty nice looking. Can't wait to hear more about it. If it is anything like the Harrier 3D, it will at the least be well built. I've seen other Seagull models fly too and they all seemed to be solid. This might be my next plane. Going to have to wait and see.

Anyone have a pic or two to share?

Bob: I just about have mine finished. I put a Zenoah G-26 with the B&B single pipe header on mine. I have cut very little out of the cowl, only cut out for the header pipe to come out and i can bolt it on from the front of the cowl with the cowl loose. It really fits nice in it. This is one of the nicest arfs i have ever seen. Hope it flys as good as it looks. Ed

Bob - Loaded up the Laser 200 this AM and headed to the field. Got it stuck together and asked one of the "good" pilots to give it it's maiden flight.

According to Tom, the pilot, "A good flying airplane".

Did have one problem. Get it trimmed flying in one direction - do a 180 and out of trim. Made no difference which way it went. When we got it on the ground did an extensive check and came to conclusion servos in the wing were not centering or had a lot of slop. They were standard servos and I don't know how many crashes they have been through.

Will get that under control shortly. Went to the local hobby shop and purchased two 635 Hitec servos. They are high torque with the new karbonite gears in them.

As I mentioned in another message I moved the CG back to 2 inches from the leading edge wing tip. Seemed to be ok. Plane flew inverted with very little down required.

Anxious to get it going and will do my own thing next go around.

Adam - Wing span is a smidge over 69". My plane with a Saito 120 and an old kitchen scale came it at approx 11 1/8 Lb. Didn't fly myself but Tom, the pilot, said it was a good flying plane.

For the money I'm happy.

Bob - Think I found my problem, I Hope. Saturday while putting in the new servos in the wing halves, once batterys turned on, was getting all kinds of flutter and strange movements. Obviously interference, I thought. A neighbor couple doors down has a ham outfit and I was about ready to go "chat" with him.

Did go flying today. Took the Hog Bipe out and while at the field, to to talking to an acquaintance and told him the problems I was having. He mentioned that he had the same problem with a receiver that was in a mid-air. Came home. Tried a different receiver and the problem has gone away, I hope.l

Mayben Friday, will do my thing.

I've used Mg 645's in my ultimate powered by a Saito 150.

Worked Flawlessly and if you're chasing that little extra horsepower, use a 5 cell pack ;)

11 1/2 lb's!!?!?! What have you been feeding that thing? lard?

She seems overly heavy for the size of the aircraft.

Rendegade - Instructions said between 10 & 11 lbs. I'm going to sweat an extra 1/2 pound. No way. It gets off the ground, pokes holes in the sky and comes down in one piece. What more can you ask for? A hot shot pilot - I am not.

Harc, what are the specs of your aircraft?

I was interested in buying one of these big babies, but at 11 1/2 lb's "realistic" weight.

Rendegade - As I have said many times - You can't believe what you read. Horizon Hobbie's ad in Model Airplane News says:

Wingspan 69.25" Weight 10 - 11 Lb Engine 90 - 120 2 Stroke 1.20 - 1.50 4 stroke

Assembly Manual says:

Wingspan 68.75" Weight 9.02 - 11 Lb Engine sizes - as above Length 63.4"

So take your choice. My planes' wingspan is 69 3/16". Didn't measure the length. Appears to be a well built plane. The way I fly, it should stay glued together unless I develop a case of bad thumbs and smoke it in. I have been noted for doing that.

The weight I said mine was could be off considerably. I use an old Kitchen scale that the wife discarded years ago. All it does is give my an approximation. Close enough for me.

Problem I was having with the trim turned out to be a faulty receiver. Don't know how many thumps its taken in its life. That has now been corrected. Like Bob Zaar, waiting for decent weather. 8 PM here in Denver, CO and snowing.

Anything else I can answer or help with, give a yell.

JUst picked up one of these planes last nite....got it for $300 bucks Canadian. I'll fly it with a Webra 1.20 swinging a 16x8 APC. Will start the build today. If I get it finished this weekend...will post pics. If you guys want start to finish pics...let me know and I will post i.e:- from box to ready to fly pics.
Cheers....can't wait to get started. Gone to hinge ailerons.

Kaz - Definitely want pictures to see if your plane looks better than mine. Also, I'm no genius with this computer so question is, How do you post pictures? Don't have a digital camera but do have a scanner. I'm only about one step into the 20th century.

Kaz - Feel like a dummy asking you how to get photos into this site. After I sent the message to you started to look and finally figured it out. Now have a photo of my Laser 200 in my gallery. Looks almost like the box. Still want to see pictures of yours.
