What A Problem!!!
 

Hi guys, this is an awesome thread which talk about the PROBLEM, surely I do not see any problem here.
I started two years ago with a trainer of course. But some thing happened and next thing I noticed that my planes have started multiplying. 40s became small, 60s are average, 120s are ok and now giant scale planes are good!!
Living in two bed room apt. converted second room into hobby land, some time planes are in living room on coffee table, dining table, along the bed side. Bathroom is the only place where there are no planes. God bless my wife's heart she is very understanding and very seldom says any thing about this problem. I still do not see any problem and if some body has one then I have no solution for it.

Wait until your wife decides to surprise you by cleaning up. It will take you months to find your stuff. I got through that about every 18 months! I have bought a yard barn and I move out there the next time she cleans up!!!!! :)

The amount of airplanes can be a problem. It can be solved.
When we finished our basement last year, I built a separate
room just for airplanes and a work shop to build in. I close the door when I'm done. I also have an extra garage about 100'
away from the house. I usually keep the fleet out there during
flying months unless I have problems then it's to the basement.
The only time the wife goes out there is to say its time to eat or I have a phone call. She doesn't clean my garage or my room down
stairs so everything is always as I leave it.
Then if you are stock piling yourself out of room I'd say it's
time to thin them out. Even with extra room a person can run out.
I keep mine thinned out to around 5 to 6 complete and usually
2 for projects. Flying taste changes constantly which is why this hobby never gets old.

Man I feel for you buddy! I am in the same boat! I have just about airplaned myself out of the house. Its not I have to manythey just keep getting bigger and bigger. Yikes! :)

Collecting a large no. of aircraft is sort of an easy thing
to do.

Over the years as I moved from 40 powered stuff into
60's , I started to sell off or trade the 40 size items that I had lost
interest in. Now as I'm moving into giant size the 60
size stuff is starting to go away in sale's or trade.

Keeping all the stuff that you may not ever use again is
just plain ridiculous. You may be carrying expensive useless inventory that collects dust and space. Turn the old stuff
around for new.

Go for quality, not quantity

When I started 4 years ago, I had a vision of the big 33% extras and such. We have around 10 of them here. I bought the Sig Cap. Nice plane. Flew it a while and has hung on the ceiling for two years now. Precision flying is boring to me. I take the hobby seriously but want to have fun and relax at the same time.
* 120 size Warbirds and Propjets are what I like. Also the hot little ones like Wonders,Shrikesetc. You would be surprised at what people like to watch and see. The big ones are nice and impressive but boring to watch. Nothing like a few P-51s or a couple F-20props racing around.
* I also tried to find the "perfect"plane. This would be the plane in which would be the only plane you have. It does not exist. I have 8 "perfect" planes and would not give up any of them. (Even the Cap)
