Engine Mount Question

I need to change the engine on my UCD .46 My question is can I use 4-40 hex bolts with lock nuts to hold the engine in. The holes in the mount are just slightly larger from the old bolts that were in there. Would it be safe to hold the new one in with these bolts. Thanks

RE: Engine Mount Question

I would go with the next size up with the bolts anf lock nuts, since were talking the engine mount, maybe 6/32.If its the firewall I would go with blind nuts then nuts and locktite it all.

What he said. Use Loctite Blue, NOT Red. I used red on the blind nuts on my trainer engine mount, twisted the blind nut out of the firewall trying to unscrew the screw that was in it. Red is for permanent application, blue will turn loose

RE: Engine Mount Question

These are the ones that hold the engine to the mount. I was using the locking metal with nylon inside the nuts.
