I believe there is an OV-10 by Rich Urvich that is an ARF....for .32 or less size engines. I'd like to try one with two Saito .30's for noise makers...

Search around for the Hobbico TwinStar, flew mine this morning and had a ball!

It's just been discontinued but you might find some still on dealers shelves.

Here's my Twinstar. I didn't know they stopped making them. The covering on my first only lasted about 6 months so I stripped this one down and covered it in the H-D color scheme.

OS 25 FXs for power, what a great flying plane!

I fly a TwinStar around with a pair of TT .36 PROs. Flies like a bat outta hell... Really fast.. I had my very first engine-out the other day, It flew like it was out of trim... brought it in for a nice gentle landing. I cannot believe they stopped making them.

You can buy the VQ A-26 from Morris Hobbies too.

I had a twinstar. But am looking for something more sport or float. I just found an ARF (The Bronco) which is a float or land. Cool plane. It has twin booms and one fuse.

I owned the Uravitch Bronco ARF with two Saito 30's, it was beautiful, cannot recommend it enough for a first twin.
It is DEFINITELY not a floatplane, I have no idea what drlsrgnt is talking about. I do not think it would make a good floatplane, either. Too much weight too far outboard, would make a very tippy canoe. Too much drag, too.
I also had the VQ Invader. Not sure I would recommend that one for a beginner. If you have four or five ARFs under your belt, sure, but it is not that easy to get together, and not great quality construction.

The Twinstar is an excellent 1st twin-engine aircraft. I have flown and owned 3 of them. The first was with OS 40 engines....and it was the best of the bunch. The 2nd one had ASP32's and was very fast.......snapped at high angle of attack on takeoff. This led to the 3rd one with TT42's which was sold while in the process of building it.
The Twinstar experience is worth the time, effort and price. The covering should be better.....shelf paper belongs in the cupboard. It flies very well and should be flown with rudder and aireron. Engine out, no problem. Just use rudder and land.
Great Airplane, I want another one......actually larger would be even better.

Damn good idea.. LARGER.. I had a TwinStar and loved it.. 46FX's .. I made a Tiger 60 into a twin.. I like it.. I will probably love it when I change motors as it flys too 'normal" ..
Something liek a nice 70" or 80" twin ARF with a couple .60's would be kick axx to play with... *sigh* ... back to building it looks like...
