Stearman ARF

Hi Guy's
Does anyone remeber who was making the large Stearman ARF. It is being done in the military yellow with red stripes on the wing.

Thank you, Dave R

RE: Stearman ARF

Hi Dave.

All I can say is WOW! This thing came in two HUGE boxes. The wings are in 1 piece! The hardware looks great but does not include a fuel tank, pushrods for the ailerons or control horns for the ailerons and elevators. A pull pull rudder system is provided. The directions show two elevator pushrods (2 servos used in manual) but only 1 pushrod with a split tail is included. Manual is nice with lots of color pics but only the installation of the Brison gasser is covered. They don't touch on the radial installation at all. The covering is very tight and nicely done. There are hard points under the coveing everywhere a cabane strut or flying wire is attached. Wheels are heavy with aluminum hubs and "Moon" aluminum hubcaps. Tail wheel is quite substantial and also has an aluminum hub. Also included is a CD-Rom with a ton of pics, including large versions of the detail photos in the manual. This will be very handy for assembly. I'd post pics but they have a ton of them on the website. All in all I'd say it's very nicely done. It looks like an easy build with the toughest part being the flying wire fabrication.

Hi Bob:
Excellent, how about the radial, can a dummy engine be added? I would like a nice radial up front but a good dummy with gas might do the trick.

Hi Dave,

A dummy radial is not included but I'm sure one will fit the Huge cowl. The installation of the Brison gasser is show with a side mounted muffler that requires hacking the crap out of the cowl. I think a rear mounted Pitts style would better preserve the cowl.
