Piper or Cessna
Hi, i am stuck on deciding between a great planes .40 Cessna 182 and a Hangar 9 Piper cherokee. This will be my 3rd plane after a supersports 40 which i lost due to radio failure. I'm comfortable on both low and high wings and looking for something stable yet responsive and capable of basic manuevers in a scale appearance. My concern with the cessna is that i dont want to feel like i'm flying a trainer again. As far as i know, they both require about the same building time and both fly nice. I dont know much else about them. Can someone provide me some insight? Any complaints of either plane or question thier quality? thanks

RE: Piper or Cessna
I have both a GP Cessna 182 40 and a GP Piper Cub 40 fabric covered. I love to fly them both. I dont consider them trainers at all. They do however fly easier than some of my planes but not as easy as a top wing trainer. My cessna comes in quick but no bad tendancies either in the air or on the ground or while landing. The cub glides forever when trying to land. It flys great as does the cessna and niether require much power to get them to fly. I have a Saito 72 4stroke on the cub and a Magnum 52 4 stroke on the cessna. Neither are underpowered. I beileve which ever one you choose you will love or in my case end up buying the other later on and loving both.

RE: Piper or Cessna
I have owned the Hangar 9 Cherokee and can recommend it. It's a good flying model... a bit heavier in the air than a trainer, and it comes with a workable interior kit if you are so inclined. I also like the GP Cessna, but prefer the Cherokee. I think you would enjoy either one.
