DaZZleR

Was thinking about buying a Dazzler and have a TT .42

Is this enough engine for knife edge and KE loops?

Unless you modifiy the rudder/overpower... The Dazzler will not
hold K.E. much less K.E. loop.. At least thats the way mine is
with a 46FX, 12.25x 3.75 APC prop... Tail heavy, with Max
throws.. rudder touching elevator... But they do spin FAST and
land easy... But needless to say, Mine stays home most the time.
Someone gave me the Dazzler which he crashed, repairs looks
good, but maybe it has something to do with it. But I don't think
so.. And if space is a problem.. The wing does not come off..

I have been thinking about the Twist, I think that would be a lot
better, But I would put at least a bearing 46 on it..

If you have your mind made up on a Dazzler (I had one and didn't like it) it takes a lot of mixing to get even a mediocre knife edge. They are fun to fly but crappy covering and the fuse is weak at the LE of the wing. I hated the permanent attached wing. I later got a Twist and it's 10 times a better plane all the way around. The Twist needs mixing to get a decent knife edge. The TT .42 is probably enough power..I ran an OS .46 AX with 12.25x3.75 APC prop.

Hey WCB... Does your 46 hold the twist off the prop?? Pull out?
Do you know if a OS 61 will fit on the stock mount/ nose of the
plane? It kind of looks small up front...

RE: DaZZleR

Raideron,
The Twist will prop hang easily on the OS .46 with the prop I use, however I can only hold a hover for about 10 seconds (my fault not the plane). I have it slightly tail heavy too. It will pull out of a hover vertical and climb nearly out of sight. Take off roll is only about 30 feet and that is off grass. I don't think the OS .61 will fit in the nose without some modifications. That is a whole lot of engine for that plane. An OS .50 would probably be OK but I would hesitate before putting a bigger two stroke than that on it. Some people are using Saito 72 and 82 four strokes on them but from what I have read the throttle arm is a pain.

WCB:

Mind NOT made up on the Dazzler, but you say the TT .42 will be ok on the TWIST?

Will it also allow the TWIST to hover and pull out from a hover?
Also, how does the TWIST balance using an engine such as this?
Don't have a radio that "mixes out" for KE. Will have to fly it manually nor have EXPO.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info WCB... So your 46/APC pulls it from a hover
really good??? Or just barely pull out... Happy New Year!!

RE: DaZZleR

The Twist is a better plane hands down...but the 42 wont give you the performence you need to enjoy the plane...you my want to look at the OMP profile planes to use that 42 on....JW

RE: DaZZleR

Raideron: The .46 will pull it vertical out of a hover but it isn't real quick. Does it blast straight up like a rocket?....no.

Glowfuel: I am not familiar enough with a TT .42 to really give you educated answers on how it would do on the Twist. Autoguns seems to be more experienced in that area. Sorry. As for Expo I highly recommend it on this plane if you are going to max out the throws. I think I run about 40% all the way around on mine. Expo is not a necessity, but it sure will smooth out your flying.

Happy New Year to you all as well.
