GP 1/4 Patty or Wildhare extra...
My wife bought me a GP Patty Wagstaff 1/4 scale Extra 300 for Christmas, and it had to go back due to ALL of the control surfaces being warped, and numerous dents & dings in the fuse and wings.
I have an opportunity to either purchase a completed Patty, or order a different model, which in this case might well be the Wildhare 28 % Extra 300. The complete Patty is somewhere between an 8 and a 9, has a DA 50, high torque metal gear servos, a PCM reciever, 3 heavy duty JR switches, ball links on everything, a well thought out choke rod, and generally was assembled very well and with a lot of thought. It has one season on it, and has not had a crash, other than a poor landing in the grass that bent the gear. The gear has been replaced, and had I not seen the bent gear laying in his garage, never would have been able to tell. I have seen the model fly, and it appears to fly very well, with unlimited vertical. The Wildhare obviously would fly better with much better wing loading, and would also assemble quicker. Also, even with more money invested, everything would be brand new, and it would be a one-of-a-kind at our airfield. Opinions greatly appreciated...... |
