switch harness placement?
 

I'm almost finished with my somethin extra ARF, but can't figure out where to put the switch harness. Does anyone have a pic of their servo bay showing their switch location and how it is mounted?

Don't have a pic, but a buddy of mine who flys one has his just in front of the leading edge off to one side. Whatever is more convenient for you and easy to get to.

Mine is where cruzomatic described. I can post a pic this evening when I get home if no one else steps up.

Another alternative, if you're running a two-stroke (and from the placement of your throttle servo, looks like that's what you have), is on the bottom of the fuselage immediately behind the main gear. My first SE had the switch there. This isn't good for a four stroke installation, as they tend to spread blow-by residue (oil) from the breather vent along the bottom of the fuselage.

The new enviro-nazi special OS four strokes, of course, don't do this.

In any event, if you don't have one, do yourself a BIG favor and buy a one-piece switch/charge jack. These are a piece of cake to install, and do away with the need to cut TWO mounting holes and accompanying screw holes, etc.

The Sig SE is a neat little plane that is, IMO, probably the best overall general purpose/sport model available. I'm on my third one; I'll always have one.

I wondered about that when did mine in the end I opted for the floor of the fuse just behind the landing gear. Nice and easy to install, no problems so far. BTW I found that screws of the landing gear kept shaking loose, so used some blue lock tight to secure them.

Hey thanks, I thought about putting it on the bottom where the ply is thin. If I mount it on the left side in front of the wing I will need to notch out the inside former so it will fit. I would really like to mount it inside and use a wire sticking out of the fuse for a push/pull switch. Has anyone done that?

That's exactly what my friend used a push/pull switch, dubro I think. Go for it. :D

Mounting is simple, cut a small rectangular hole in the plane. They even provide a template.
