Yes, it has the power pod. The Firewall looks to be some very good plywood.

And speaking of Decathlons, I have the Seagull which is excellent, but if you really want a nice one, check out the larger one (60 size) made by Goldberg. Cut the wingtips off and throw in a 91 4-stroke and that thing is AMAZING!

My first plane was a VMAR Hornet trainer, i spose overall it was pretty good... it looked good, flew really well and was super stable, yet with semi-symetrical wings it allowed for good pracitce of begginer aerobatics. After this i went to a Kyosho Calmato low wing and yes the quality jump was massive, but so was the price difference... since then i am now onto a new WM Dago red P51, and once again that was a another jump in price, and overall i am happy with the plane, quality wise tho its behind the kyosho.. the thing i noticed with the WM stang is there is a good amount of positives but a good amount of negatives too. The major points being the glass fuse is great, streamline fuse compared to the normal P51, pre fitted retracts, blah blah... the bad bits being their jigs musn't be very straight cos the fuse has a minor twist over the length of it, there is massive amounts of vibration through the fuse due to the fuel tank not being supported enough which means you have to do some nifty work to get it right otherwise you get mega glitches and screws start coming out lol etc. But i must say over all three manufacturers the Kyosho was supperbly built, looked excellent and and price couldn't be beaten. So atm my order is Kyosho, WM then VMAR, VMAR at the end because i don't expect them to be on par with the other too brands when $$$ are considered, as at the end of the day you get what you pay for, so for the $170AUS it cost me for the VMAR as a first plane i was very happy with it.

I wrote about the bad experiences I had with a V-Mar Stick some time ago, and for good reason. Since then, everybodys gotten in on the act and again, for good reason. I had two V-Mar Sticks self-destruct in the air- not one but two. While the engines are the most reliable and easy to start I've ever run, the wing top and bottom spars (the ones the shear webs are atached to) are only HARD BALSA!! I'd rather pay a little more and keep my rig in one piece. If I crash it, fine, but to have it lose a wing in mid air .....gross! I now fly GP Sticks and replace the parts as I break them. Did you know that the wings; fuse and tail as parts (no wheels, tank ets.) comes to less that the (ARF) entire kit? I'm in Bermuda and the shipping is expencive so we know how to save $$$. So y'all, check the material the spars are made of. If it's only balsa, send it back! If enough customers send their junk back, they'll get the message soon enough. CKS

What a lot of opinions on Vmar. As I said earlier I have 2. They may not be of good quality but on that very windy day when you don't want to take out your pride and joy, just throw up a cheap Vmar plane and have some fun. If you break it, so what, fix it or buy another. After all, that's what model flying is all about........Isn't it?

I agree, but a GOOD stick from Great Planes won't self distruct and write off your engine in the process. I won't even use the battery after a crash like that. I fly my GP sticks (40 & 60 size) in 35 knots of wind. I pull all kinds of G's and no problem. I even put one in the ocean and only lost the flight pack. I could forgive the other poor workmanship if the spars were spruce or something. But balsa? No thank you.

I doubt it. Look at that Phantom here. From the front of the Canopy to t the rear is great but the nose section is embarassing

How are you guys doing. I cannot comment on vmar too much but needless to say i have heard more negeative things about then than positive ! I was thinking about getting a vmar subaru because their kits look fairly nice and are relatively inexpensive. I think i will be better off just getting the gp lancier for the better quality and peace of mind.

Anyways as far as World Models is concerned i own their Mach I skyraider. Overall it is a good plane. Their are some things im dissapointed with such as the sheeting on the wing is very weak and it cracked and broke even before the maiden flight. Also i would have to say the wood is very thin and the hardware is cheap. Anyways i contaced wm and they were happy to help me.

I have learned that this will probably be the last World Models kit i buy

But you get what you pay for.

not everyone lives with great US prices.

Ive bought two vmars, the 330l extra.....dissapointing cover sagged while building indoors!!!, wing tube didnt align properly with wings (hole in the wings was misaligned)
vmar f4 phantom..much noted improvement in build quality..still suffered sagging in covering, but it was a very hot day.cant comment on the type of balsa used , I'm no expert there

would I buy another vmar..maybe I dont find them that offensive, still need to improve..as for the cheap control horns etc..havent seen that much better from other arf's in all honesty..but I know I'll get bagged for that statement
