Simple choice Hellcat or Thunderbolt?

I can't decide what is next. I like both of these planes. I'm interested in ARF or kit recommendations for something in a 50" to 70" wing span.

Bubble or razorback Thunderbolt?

No question it would be a razorback.

Ok then! I voted for the Razorback. I think it is KMP that is coming out with an arf in the 72" range soon.

It looks like a nice ARF. Was concerned about the price, but it says it includes air retracts.

KMP retracts are JUNK!

KMP retracts are JUNK!
I use KMP reract that came with KMP P-47(old Version).
Although it is usable, it does not hold air pressure as long time as
other brands like Spring Air, CJM or Robart.
I suspect either the control valve or the retract cylinder lacks good
quality,precision or durability.
I want KMP sell them of two types, with retracts and without retracts.

I built the P-47 Thunderbolt ARF from GSP. It was a good value and flies well. Only criticism is the retract gear mounting rail is under designed (too short) IMO.

I voted P-47. Love those planes. Had the TF kit... until the cat knocked over some boxes in the closet and destroyed the tail on it... Wasn't even half done on it.

I'll have one again someday.

I second this statement. A buddy of mine had their P38 and flew it about 5-6 times and his retracts never worked. He troubleshot them over and over and could never get them right. He ended up selling the plane out of fustraition.

My vote is for the P47. I have the Model Tech P47 ARF and even tough the retracts aren't the best, I'll give the plane an overall thumbs up. Plus, it looks great in the air during a low fly by.

I voted Thunderbolt but there are less Hellcats around so if you wanted to be original.........
