I thought I would share this with you all.

I am not going to tell you who makes the plane or what it is, take a guess. I am sure you will work it out.

The quality of this ARF is outstanding, take a look at the photo's.

Yes I know what you mean. They do actuly fix to the light ply. They are a supplied part for the three servo frames that also come separate

A friend of mine had a 90 size Groovy. Notice I said had. It bit it last Sunday and everything but two servos and the receiver was a total loss (there was a pumped OS FS 120 in it that has over $200 damage to it). I believe he said that he lost radio contact. He loved the airframe and it was a real performer. You will be very happy with it.

thank's for that, I have not heared too much about them. From what I have seen of it so far, the quality is there, and it sounds like the plane will be capable of a lot more tha I am.

BTW pass on my sympathy for your friends loss.

Forestroke,

I had a series of disasters with the SS40's, just one thing after another, bad luck, dumb thumb's, equipment failure. So I changed tack a little, I got hold of the Sky Raider II (SS40 in disgise just a bit lghter/smaller). I put a .46 up front which is a little big but the extra power is fantastic, pretty quick with unlimited vertical. What a fantastic little plane, I have 40+ flights on her now around 10+ a week, with no mishaps to speak of. I am flying the pattern knife edge or inverted, touch and go's and just about anything I can imagine. All free style stuff if you know what I mean.:D:D:D
I can't tell you how many hours I have loged on my G3 sim, but it has helped to exorsize a few gosts and lift my confidence.
I found a much better flying field with lot's and lots of room, this has helped my confidence also, everything seem's to have clicked into place. I fly from an unfinished concrete raod about 40 feet wide and 150mtr's long, its ideal, There is a road at one end that is hardly ever used, with concrete block's across to stop people dumping garbage on the road where I fly. I have open farm land on the other three sides.
Thing's are getting quite good here now, I have an Irish guy I am helping to learn on my old trainer and a Chinese Kite flyer using the firebird commander. We attract quite a crowd whatching us fly 20<30 people. They all want to have a go, but can't afford it. I am just waiting for a trainer lead to arrive and then I might pass round the little .15 foamy trainer and let them have a taste.[X(][X(]

BTW I don't expect to be flying 3D. It will be set up as a sport plane for now on LOOOWWWW rates until I get used to the size:D

that's great news that you found the sky raider mach ii to be a great plane. they are really good flyers. i can imagine that the benefit of being in the armpit of china is that you get lots of space. congrats on your progress!

Thank's forestroke,

It was begining to get me down, one disaster after the next:(

I am in a purple patch at the moment, but I am sure the sport will jump up and bite me once again. Time will tell.

Yourself and all the fliers on here have been fantastic, for me. Given that I am on my own out here.

Thank's for all the support.

Just an update about my friend that crashed his Groovy: He bought another one (the pattern version) because he couldn't find another plane that had the same performance in that price range. In fact he had to order two because one of my other friends decided to get one too. Groovy man!

When was the weather that good to wear short sleeves in Middlesborough? I like the dedication taking the plane into the office.
