Little Toni
I'm going to start building a Little Toni and I have a couple of questions. First the enging choice: I want to put a 4 stroke either the O.S. FS-91 II Surpass or the Saito 100? Pump or no pump??? I don't even know what the pump is for so you can see I need some help.
Also the servos, I have almost new Futaba S3003's or new Hitec HS-425BB? Last question: what about the best prop? Thank you for your advise. Tom [email protected] |
RE: Little Toni
If that is the Great Planes Lil Toni, I think the plans give a pretty good synopsis of what you need with the O.S.
I had to do some cutting on mine with a Dubb Jett .90 with two 1/2"extensions for the muffler. So far so good. The elevator has 1 Hitec 635 and the rudder/TW has an older 605. The 425s will do OK for the ailerons and the fut. will work on the throttle. It's a fun plane, however I think it is for rather experienced pilots. Your questions make me wonder.[:o] |
RE: Little Toni
Tom,
I have the Little Toni, I went with the OS 91FS non-pump. I used 60OZ torque servos on the ailerons, elevator and rudder. The plane turns nice and sharp. My tank blew out on the last flight and flooded the inside with fuel. I haven't replaced the tank yet. I recommend re-enforcing the 1/4 firewall. On my first Little Toni, the fiberglassed started breaking around the firewall. The plane flies really nice. I know some people have shoehorned way to much engine into it. The plane is light and flies fine within the recommend engine range. The plane was very easy to put together. Good luck and have fun. Dave |

Thank you Dave for the great advice!

RE: Little Toni
I got a new little Toni and still building slowly.....
Yes, I will re-enforce inside the firewall corners with 1" heavy duty fiberglass tape and resin. Also I might re-enforce around four holes inside the cowl that supports to fuseage. About the motor, I don't have one yet.......I might go for a Saito 1.00 I have heard it went about 118 mph with that motor.....dunno what prop size. I'll take a Top-flight power point 14-6 for my plane. I bought 4 futaba 3010s and one 3004. Good luck Tom!! |
