Older H9 Edge

Hi,

I've just got the older 1.20 size Edge 540 from Hanger Nine.

I'm looking for an engine to suit.

I was thinking of a Magnum 1.60 twin four stroke because of fuel economy.
I'm also thinking of the 1.20 four stroke, because I'm not really into the 3D, however that may change

Any opnions on an engine, preferably 4 bangers.

The best four stroke for this aircraft are Saito 180 and YS 140/160 single: good power and very little weight!
The Magnum 160 is too heavy and the power is about the same of O.S. 120.

Muza,
I would have to say Saito 1.80 with an APC 16X8 prop. I have one setup this way and it fly's great.

A buddy of mine had one with the Saito 1.80 and 17x6 APC...it flew great, but if you want fuel economy, the 1.80 might not fit the bill for you?
Generally speaking, a twin won't make the same power as an equivelent size single.

Just a thought...how about an O.S. 1.60 maybe? Another flyin' buddy has one in a DP Extra, and it seems to pull it around well...

Muza,

I have a friend with this plane, and it has plenty of power even at our 5000 ft altitude with a Saito 180. Really drinks the fuel, though.

If you would like signifcantly better fuel economy with almost as much power, try a Saito 150.

I've all but decided to go with the 1.50, as I know Saito are bl00dly good engines.

Now it's just a matter of saving up for one.
