CMPro/ World Models
Where can I buy CMPro or World Models aircraft online? Also, is this the same company? I am looking for some reasonably priced 40-60 size warbirds like the Zero or Thunderbolt I have seen.

RE: CMPro/ World Models
I usually get mine from a LHS but here is the website for Airborne Models, they sell WM.

RE: CMPro/ World Models
they aren't the same company.
you can get CMPro from Raidentech, Chief and the infamous GSP their new P-51 is very nice. i've seen many and the details and consruction (glass fuse) is very good. and as someone mentioned WM from Airborne. While WM aren't as scale, they are easier to build and fly. all the p-51's are good flyers including the 60 class the spits is nice as well in the 60 class. the thunderbolt made by AMD is also good. I can't remember who they sell under. VQ also makes a good warhawk. |
RE: CMPro/ World Models
CMPro is not World Models.. two different companies.. World models i believe is in Hong Kong and CMPro is in China? But yeh they are different.. quite different builds too.. i've had both and i prefer CMPo but thats just my oppinion.. both are good, but i had bad experiences with my WM Dago Red.

RE: CMPro/ World Models
I have built a few planes from both companies. In general, WM planes are better designed and will build lighter than CMPro. However, CMPro seems to be much more comfortable with composite construction, which allows them to offer more warbirds and aerobats with very true to scale contoured fuselages.
Instructions/manuals are about the same - pictograms with few written words. I actually prefer this style of manuals mostly because I'm too lazy to read text and don't like wordy instructions. Most manuals repeat the same old drill over and over anyhow. If you have put together a few ARFs, most of cautions/warnings/explanations will seem old spiel. However, a lot of people feel the exact opposites - preferring more written words. Included hardware are about the same, about average of the ARF industry. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an airplane I like from either company, though like just about any ARF manufacturer, there are always the good, the bad and the ugly in every product line. |
RE: CMPro/ World Models
volfy - i'd argue that world models has better hardware than cmpro. naturally neither can match dubro but that's because they are only a fraction of the price.
