ARF & RTF

When installing the control surfaces on the Goldberg Tiger 60 the instructions say to push the control surface, such as an aileron tightly against the trailing edge of the wing so there is no gap. This in contradictory to everything I have ever done but Goldberg says to do it that way to prevent flutter.

Anyone have an opinion?

If you are using the CA type hinges this could be a problem. With CA hinges one should push the surface up tight. Then deflect it . Then apply the CA. A gap in the hinge line can induce some flutter. I prefer to use the method above and if there is a gap seal it with some clear Monocoat or tape.
