Kyosho has a Cessna Agwagon featured on their website. I can't figure out how to order from them online. Can someone help me out? BTW, why don't I want one of these planes? Thanks in advance.

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Hello,
I believe it is STILL being discontinued as it was more than 3-4 years ago. A very well made plane and excellent flyer. Ask your dealer if he can get it for you, but I doubt that he can. DP |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I tried to order one thru my local Hobby shop, they said it has been discountinued. If you find one let me know.
thank you |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I don't know if it's the same one I had, if it is you better be a good builder, it had lousey instructions and I have built for years. Not trying to be negative just a heads up!!! I Loved the plane. ENJOY !!!!! RED

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Hello,
I had the chance to look at the contents very carefully as mine is NIB. The covering while well done will need to be stripped and recover. There are also some minor alterations to make it better. Since it is such rare plane now and is in high demand, I probably will not start on it and keep it as a collector item. Such a shame that it is discontinued as it is the BEST AgWagon ARF out there..... bar none. DP |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
If the Agwagon really has been discontinued I wish Kyosho would remove it from their website. They mention starting up Kyosho America in May of this year on their website. Looks like they could have deleted the Agwagon (it's in the SQS series of airplanes) the same time. Maybe a Kyosho dealer will read this and elaborate. Thanks

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Only place to find them are like here in Malaysia, I know one or two NIB, hehehe ...

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I have one of these Kyosho AgWagons its a great plane and looks great in the sky. Only problem I have is that I have cracked the engine cowl, does anyone know where I can get a replacement. [8D]

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Has anyone tried repairing one of these plastic engine cowls, if so whats the best method.
|
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I use fiberglass cloth and epoxy; apply to inside of cowl; when completely dry I apply a mixture of epoxy and micro baloons to any cracks and holes on the surface, when dry, sand till smooth and paint.

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
New Cowls are listed/sold by Fiberglass Speacialties at

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I found the arf nib 204.00. I should get it in next week. Does anybody have any engine suggestions for a 4 stroke engine. Thinking about the saito 72 or 82. My brother flyies ag wagons crop dusting and my dad flew them for 30 years. I bet I have flown in one at least 100 hrs with him as a kid. This will have a lot of centimental value to me. I probably will be scared to death to fly it.
|
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
The engine all depends on how you want to fly. The first one I built many years ago had a Saito 45 and it flew scale like, the next one had a Saito 56 and was more that enough power to do most aerobatic's. IF you are thinking 3d then the 72 should be fine.
After looking oin the web and een had a riend that flies in to Japan gave up on the Agwagon and am building and Air Tractor from Team Duster. See thread in Kit building. Jim |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
hi guys,
just purchase one old kyosho agwagon, the frame is okay, but the covering look very old and dirty, thinking of recovering it again. I have never recover any built plane before. Can anyone tell me what need to pay extra attention to while recovering this nice plane? |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Look at all the joints. A little Ca on each can't hurt. Also look for oil soaked wood and replace it. New covering will not stick to it. Take your time and use heat when pulling the old off. Lite sand and recover.

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
I would cut all the hinges, if they are CA hinges, trim them evenly, and move on to removing covering. When it comes time to recover, you will find it incredibly hard to recover control surfaces while still attached to the plane. Choose new hinge locations and install new hinges. Maybe it's an extra step but it makes covering a lot easier...will look better, too. Good luck!:D

This plane is so scarce now. I got one that was given to me as an ARC, seems Kyosho made kits of them a long time ago. Here is mine, EP of course. She flies very different from most sport planes, maybe its the dihedral.
I got her up on a 3S set up with an AXI 2826/12 turning an APC 14x10. Just a mere 410W of power and is good enough to pull medium sized loops from level flight. :) |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
Was reading a 1987 Tower catalog last night. It was their 15th anniversary issue. The Kyosho AgWagon is in it. The kit was $85 or $90 bucks.

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
It came in two versions, build it yourself or later the ARF. Cessna has halted production of future kits because of royalties that have to be paid. It is a shame has this was one fine flying airplane and always brought comments from fellow flyers.
You can if you are lucky find one on the web from time to time but you do pay a high price for them. There are other manufacturers now that are making crop duster a/c. For those of us that love shoe top flying there are planes to be built. Just my two cents Jim |
RE: Kyosho Agwagon
JimO;Hi;I don't see too many mfgs.of those planes tried that rcguys site mentioned but found no sign of crop duster on it!Seems to me some of the Ausy's have more over there or they are more popular there.Kick myself had a 1/4 scale one parial built at swap last year and I passed up on it.

RE: Kyosho Agwagon
GO to www.teamdusters.com Hollis Calvert has 2 sizes of the Air Taractor, I am building the 72 inch version.. Also go to www.airtractor.com and click on the gauge link for funstuff. The version they offer is a fiberglass fuse. I have seen both manufactures kits fly and it's a toss up as to which one you like.
