Hangar Nine Cap232 .40 ARF
 

Anyone have any experience with this kit? I have a Royal .46 that is brand spanking new in the box and it needs a home - I am in a toss-up between 2 very different kits, the Kyosho Gee Bee Z ARF and the H9 CAP232.... If anyone has any input on making this decision, it would be most appreciated. thanks all

I can't tell you a whole lot about this plane. I had only two flights on mine when my 13yr old tripped and fell on it at home. Smashed it pretty good. Anyway, I had a OS 46FX in it with a pitts muffler. Pulled it around nicely. If you haven't seen one of these in person, it is a stiking looking plane. The first time I saw it in an ad, I said yuk! The real one looks MUCH better. I have ordered another.

Scud I got one that I will sell you RTF. I have put over 100 flights on mine and love it. I am getting rid of all of my small stuff as I have gone all Giant Scale. Mine is powered with a SuperTiger 45 and has JR servos throughout. The only change that I would make against a stock one would be to put the rudder on pull pull and to put some bracing on the horizontal stab. Let me know if you are interested as I will let this bird go for $300 plus shipping.

Does anybody has any experience what motot would work best witht this Cap. I got a O.S. .50SX. Is it enough? I would hat to have not enough power to pull it through?

i have this plane. for a year now. ys 63 13 6 apc prop. when i was first looking at it. everybody was saying how ugly it was. ill tell u its not ugly. its a nice looking plane for the money. it flys great and is alot of fun. it lands nice. if i ever got another. id put a saito 100 in it. the 63 does real nice. as ys is great. but a bigger engine would be able to hover the plane. the 63 will just barely hold it at wide open. so its not enough to hover and pull out of it. but it flys really well. im sure ud like it. knife edge, snaps. this thing will even do a knife edge loop. but it does not have quite enough power to take her to the top. just about. but a 100 shed be bad......... hope this helps.......

Thanks for the answer. I guess what I can learn from this is that a .60 size 2-stroke is the better way to go - right?
I thought that the "extra" power won't be bad ...
Actuall I have a Towerhobbies .74 2-stroke which has the same dimensions and weight than a .60 - just bit more power. With a large prop (more like a fun fly prop) that should be plenty - what do you think?

Keep in mind that this ARF comes with a motor mount already installed- It is adjustable, but I doubt you would get a typical 60 in there....

It has those metal tabs that hold down the rails on the motor and it is metal, so keep that in mind.

Not a big deal I guess, but I just thought of it while reading this! I will be throwing my Irvine 53 in the Cap-

Thanks for the advice, I guess you could just cahnge the motor mount? What engine are you using (2 / 4 stroke) and how do you like the performance?

I used a Saito .72 and it pulled this plane around with authority. VERY aerobatic - one of the better ARF's flying-wise around today.
